7 Best Tips To Finishing Concrete

  1. When finishing a wall hold your mag or trowel at an angle so you do not hit all the tie slots at the same time.
  2. When trying to fill rock pops on a troweled finish do not scrape the top off but instead use down pressure to build cream.
  3. Get lower when raking concrete so you can get a better angle to see holes or piles.
  4. Keep your form boards clean when finishing along them to keep the edge flat.
  5. Remove your stakes on a radius form before brooming so you can pull all the way off the edge
  6. When raking in front of a screed stand back about as far as possible and try to keep your raking six to ten inches ahead of the screed.
  7. Make sure you wait enough time between passes when doing a trowel finish so the slab will keep moving.
